Battle of Wilshire Boulevard The first formal “battle” of the 3rd Revolt was anything but traditional. All sorts of unorthodox methods were used to avoid ruining the masquerade during this fight. The Battle of Wilshire Boulevard got its name due to the fact that it stretched across the entirety of Los Angeles, east to west, along the eponymous street.
Nights were chaotic and full of horrifying displays of violence. Days were only marginally better; ghouls and kindred-influenced mortals took over fighting while the sun was out. Conventional warfare ruled the day, supernatural slaughter claimed the night. Cashmere the Gangrel tore anarchs apart with his ferocious claws.
Raven Hargrave was hired via prestation as a bodyguard and escort for the area for Ventrue Elder Marguerite Dryden. Being a former Anarch, he knew the area well, as well as the capabilities of his former allies. Exploiting this knowledge, he led a number of ambushes against Anarch forces in the region, helping to win critical fights during those dark nights.
The lines of territory control began to form from this fight, with the Anarchs holding territory west of the 110, and north of the 10. Alistair Ross helped hold and solidify the line at the 110 freeway with his P90 and pyrotechnics. Ross even managed to stake an Anarch old dog when one of the Anarch’s final pushes failed to break Camarilla’s line of defense.
The Anarchs’ advantage was their local nature, while a majority of Camarilla combatants had come from out of the area.
The Nosferatu elder Septus used his millennia worth of combat and ambush tactics to torpor prominent figures in the Anarch movement. He led a group of combat focused kindred dubbed by the Anarchs ‘The Dark Gestapo’ in these attacks. He maintained his ‘ boogie man type figure’ reputation among the Movement. Every time a rookie Anarch came up missing he was credited, rightly or wrongly. ‘Be careful or The Dark Gestapo will get you’ became a common Anarch saying.
Maestro Phineas Whitacre took down several Anarchs that were attempting to take control of the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Working with several Archons, he incited the Anarchs by premiering songs of anti-Libertas philosophy to standing ovations and rave reviews from the kine every night. The Anarchs had enough of the poking and came to pay Phineas a visit triggering the finale of the battle of Wilshire Blvd. Luckily, the Archons and Maestro were prepared as the Anarchs entered the theater. Let's just say it's really a blessing the seats, walls, and, curtains of the Dorothy Chandler were already red.
Several key Anarch leaders were captured as a result of this battle, and three out-of-state Archons were slain.
