Known History

Born during the post-war boom of the 50's, the boy that would become a man by the name of Simon Gold grew up in relative affluence. Upper middle-class, older WASP family from the North East, private school leading into private college; his whole life pre-planned and pre-paid. He could've worked anywhere, but decided he wanted to be involved in the glamour of Hollywood. With dreams of becoming a Producer, his internship that led to him meeting Barry Irons was a graduation gift.

Working as a personal assistant to Barry Irons came with it some strange requests, but luckily didn't have to worry about adjusting to the timezones and quickly became a night owl. As the pair got to know each other, Simon fell head over heels for the older man with his old-school charm and was let into Barry Irons confidence and heart in turn. If the Blood Bond was a proposal, then the pair married in '81 in a lavish Camarillan ceremony of all the major Kindred of Los Angeles.

Simon took to this new life easily; used to luxury and how to spend it. He schmoozed with Toreadors, gave to charities, and kept an active interest in the high society affairs of Los Angeles. The memory of the second revolt not distant enough, Simon came to represent the elite culture that epitomized the modern Camarilla, with all the confidence and obliviousness it entailed.

The Third Revolt was a shock to Gold. The Anarchs had always been the misguided rabble not attending or not invited to the galas he frequented with Barry. He was sympathetic to their concerns, raised on American democracy as well, but hoped they'd understand that they'd get nowhere dressed like vagabonds and punks. He was right, but wrong enough to hurt...

The war was brief by Kindred reckonings of time, but it's brevity did not limit it's savagery or destruction. The war changed Simon irrevocably. The only thing left of Barry being his last name and cold, golden accounts, Simon made a new path for himself, reforging himself into what he is now: Iron.
